In risking her life to personally escort 118 Allied airmen to safety, Andrée de Jongh bravely took a stand against the Nazis. She never ceased to rebel against them, not even when she was caught. In taking this stand, Andrée defied the expectations of women during WWII. Young and petite, Andrée walked hundreds of miles over rugged terrain to rescue downed airmen she didn't know.
